Jean Little UGDSB Volunteer Policy Change
Dear Dragon Families,
Our students benefit greatly from the generosity of time from our parent community. Parents help with reading, in-class events, field trips and a variety of other projects.
I am writing because there has just been a change to the UGDSB Volunteer Policy. The policy can be found by clicking here and is applied to all schools in the UGDSB. Moving forward all volunteers with the school, including field trips, will need a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check.
If you think you may ever volunteer with the school or attend a field trip, please consider getting a Vulnerable Sector Check and have it on record at the school. Each year following the check, an attestation can be completed so that the police check only needs to be done once.
Steps to complete the check:
- Visit – Police Record Checks – Guelph Police to start the process
*Please email our school directly ([email protected]) if you are require a volunteer letter from the school for the application process – Currently only OPP asking for one
Once Completed:
- Bring in Vulnerable Sector Check – We will keep on file
- Print and sign the volunteer agreement form – Bring in
