Probable Case of Covid-19 is negative

Posted April 5, 2021

Dear staff, students and family members of John McCrae Public School,

John McCrae Public School was recently notified of an exposure to a probable case of COVID-19 at school. The entire school was notified, as were specific classes and individuals who were identified as potential high-risk contacts.

After further investigation, Public Health was able to determine that this was not a confirmed case of COVID-19 and there was no confirmed exposure to COVID-19 at your school. This means anyone who was previously identified as a high-risk exposure is no longer required to isolate at home and may return to school on Tuesday April 7th.

It is important to continue practicing physical distancing, hand hygiene and wearing a face covering when physical distancing is not possible. On return to school, please continue to complete the COVID-19 Self-Assessment each morning and ensure the daily screening receives a Pass Result in order to attend in person.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. We take the health and safety of our community very seriously.

Thank you
