Dear June Avenue Families,

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) has recently investigated a COVID-19 exposure in our school community.  They have determined that this case does not create any risk to other students or the public beyond the general community risk.  No classes will be closed in this situation.

Our building is safe and open to our Special Education students and staff in the Big and Little rooms. The school has been thoroughly cleaned as part of our enhanced cleaning protocol.

Keeping you informed is part of our commitment to you. Keeping personal information private, including the identity of the person is also part of our commitment, as it is also part of Ontario’s privacy’s laws. It protects anyone already sick or at risk.

Please review the UGDSB’s Managing COVID-19 symptoms and cases in schools information that is located on the board website for more information on the process and steps Public Health takes when a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19 and the process to return to school.  As a community, we must continue to take care of ourselves and each other. We can do this by following the advice of public health agencies and government officials. Please review their advice on how you can protect yourself and others from COVID-19.

 Sincerely,

 Jill Woytko

Principal
