Monday, April 6 – Morning Announcements

Posted April 6, 2020

Before we begin: Take care of yourselves, take care of each other, reach out when you need to. This is not school: this is learning at home, led and supported by King George teachers. Everyone is giving the best they can under the circumstances, and we are here for our students and our families. We hope to bring some structure and support to your days, and we ask that you let us know how we can help. We miss you! Be safe. Be kind. Be curious.

Bonjour tout le monde. Aujourd’hui c’est lundi le 6 avril, 2020. Si le monde nous attend, qu’est-ce que nous allons le montrer? If the world is waiting for us, what are we going to show it?

This week, let’s show our organization skills. Organization is one of the Learning Skills we focus on at school. One part of organization is being able to create and follow a plan to get work done. Having a schedule or routine can really help!

There are lots of ways to create and stick to a schedule. Some people use timers on their phones, some use sticky notes that they can move around, while some make a list on a chalkboard. We’d love to see some of your schedules, King George! Take a photo and tweet it @kinggeorgeps or send it to [email protected]

Have a great day, King George!

Note to Families: If you are having trouble with your child’s Google Classroom login, please contact Mme Jones at [email protected]

Routine“Create a flexible but consistent daily routine. Make a schedule for you and your children that has time for structured activities as well as free time. This can help children feel more secure and better behaved. Children or teenagers can help plan the routine for the day – like making a school timetable. Children will follow this better if they help to make it. Include exercise in each day – this helps with stress and kids with lots of energy at home.” WHO Covid-19 Parenting Tip Sheet 3: Structure Up!
