Weekly Update

Terry FoxLast week was a full one at school!  Classes marked the 40th anniversary of Terry Fox in different ways.  Even though we couldn’t do a school-wide event, we still remembered and honoured the life and cause of an inspiring Canadian hero.  Students also learned about and acknowledged the history and impact of residential schools on our indigenous peoples on Wednesday, Orange Shirt Day, and throughout the week.  Time was also spent learning about the signs of concussion since Wednesday was also Rowan’s Law Day.

Tomorrow is International Teachers’ Day.  I am very grateful for the compassionate and dedicated teachers at King George, and also across our whole board.  Our students here in Upper Grand are fortunate indeed to have such caring and creative teachers inspiring them and supporting them in their learning.

Please find information below in the News Feed that I hope you will find useful, and I hope everyone has an awesome week!
