Weekly Update

Posted November 29, 2020

Welcome DecemberMonday is Cozy Day.  We will be spending the day in our pj’s, track suits and fuzzy sweaters!

The monthly theme for the Umbrella Project in December is Empathy – our ability to think about what someone else is going through and imagine how it feels to be in their place.

The weather is getting more wintery.  Please remember to send your child to school dressed to be outside.  Classes are spending more time outside this year for health reasons and we are less likely to call an indoor recess in order to ensure students get as much fresh outside air as possible.  Kids need to be dressed for wet days and cold ones.  They also need boots because the yards are getting muddy and that won’t change until things freeze.  If you are having trouble getting the appropriate clothing for your child, then please call me at school (519-822-1911 ext. 223) and I’ll look into ways to support.

We have permission to sell our school masks and yearbooks from last year.  Masks have a cool Knights logo and cost $9.50.  Yearbooks cost $25.  We have a limited number of each and they are available on School Cash Online.  First come – first served.

And finally, a huge thank you to all parents who took part in parent-teacher interviews last week.  It was a completely different format with all the meetings happening online or by phone.  For some, it was very new and a bit confusing to navigate the platform, and for others it was even more time spent in a virtual meeting.  But in spite of it all, parents were able to connect with their child’s teachers.  Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we all did our best to have things go smoothly.

Best wishes for Christian families who are celebrating the beginning of Advent this weekend.

Have a great week!
