Dear MAPS families,

We hope you and your family have had a wonderful March Break. As we prepare to return to school, we wanted to ensure that all families are aware of the recent changes to COVID protocols that were announced just prior to the break.
Masking is now no longer required (although still encouraged by Public Health in indoor spaces), except for under a few specific circumstances. Please ensure that your child wears a mask if they fall into the following groups:

  • For 6-10 days after a self-isolation period of five days after COVID-19 diagnosis
  • If you are identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19
  • In public spaces, including schools and child cares, for the first 14 days following travel outside of Canada
The final point with regards to travel will be especially important, as many people have travelled outside of Canada over the March Break. If your family travelled internationally please ensure your child wears a mask to school until 14 days have passed since your return.
Other than for the above reasons, masking will now be a personal, family, decision and we will work to ensure that all students respect the decisions of others to either wear a mask or go without one.
We look forward to seeing everyone back at school tomorrow.
