Leaves

Hello Arbour Vista Families,

As the crisp air and colorful leaves usher in fall, we enter a vibrant and busy time of the school year. October brings a wonderful blend of learning, activities, and celebrations, making it one of the most exciting months at our school. Thank you to those of you who were able to join us at our Open House last Thursday evening. It was wonderful to see so many parents, guardians and community members come together to support our students, allowing them to showcase their accomplishments so far this year.

Faith Days During October

Acknowledging and celebrating days of faith is an important aspect of many religious traditions and cultures. Different faiths have their own holy days, festivals, and observances that hold significance for their followers. During the month of October, please see the days that will be acknowledged and celebrated by some members of our school community. Please note that there is diversity within faith communities and that no one list can represent all faith traditions or observances.

IDENTITY BASED HARM AND/OR BULLYING BUTTON

This button is located on our school's website and the main UGDSB webpage. The Report Identity-Based Harm and/or Bullying tool gives students and parents 24/7 access to reporting. You do not have to identify yourself – just your school – and your message gets sent directly to the school principal for follow-up.

OCTOBER IS INTERNATIONAL WALK/WHEEL TO SCHOOL MONTH

The Upper Grand District School Board is participating in International Walk/Wheel to School Month this October and iWALK/iWHEEL Day on October 2nd. As part of this month, we are encouraging students and staff to walk, wheel or roll to and from school throughout the month, where able and where it is safe to do so.

PARENTS OF GRADE 8 STUDENTS

Students and caregivers can look forward to board messaging around Grade 8-9 transitions as October approaches. The public-facing calendar on the UGDSB website will continuously be updated to share information with families about opportunities to prepare for the transition to high school.
