Tomorrow is International Day of Pink! Join Glenbrook staff and students to stand in solidarity against bullying in all its forms!

INCLEMENT WEATHER: Community Use of Schools is cancelled at all UGDSB schools on Wednesday April 2, 2025.

Update: Once again, we would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding with yesterday’s partial power outage. We are delighted to share that last night we had our full power restored. UGDSB Facilities Staff were onsite to review all systems to ensure lights, water, plumbing, ventilation and heat are all operational.
School is open as usual this morning. We look forward to welcoming your child(ren) at 8:30 am!
Sincerely,
Jackie Irwin - Principal
Ashley Hopkins - Vice Principal

Power Update: As promised, we are providing an update from the school. We are continuing to experience partial power to the school, which has now affected our heating and ventilation systems. As an update, we have learned that our heating and ventilation systems will not be able to be back online until full power is restored. We are monitoring temperatures, however, we anticipate that temperatures in the school will drop as the day goes on.
Students are safe. However, given the update provided, we kindly ask that families who are able to, come to the school to pick up their children for the remainder of the day. For those that cannot attend the school, please know that staff will remain on site with students until dismissal at 2:50 pm. As a note, we cannot release children to people not on our pick up list. Please call the school if you need to arrange an alternative pick up plan. Safety of students is our priority.
Thank you for your understanding.

Good morning Glenbrook Families,
We would like to provide an update on the status of Glenbrook ES this morning. As you are aware here are parts of Shelburne that remain without power this morning.
At Glenbrook, we have partial power. What this means is that some lights are flickering, upstairs washrooms have no lights, however we have flashlights available for students to use. Our plumbing, water and heating systems are all working.
The school will remain open for families that can get to school. We will be monitoring the school throughout the day. Families who send their children to school may be required to pick up their child should the situation change. Please remind students to be extremely careful on their way to school this morning as there are still reports of many limbs and debris on the sidewalks. Dufferin OPP will have an increased presence on the roads today as well to assist with traffic.
Sincerely,
Jackie Irwin - Principal
Ashley Hopkins - Vice Principal

Krispy Kreme orders will be ready for pick up TODAY between the hours of 1:30 pm - 6:00 pm in the front foyer of the school. Please note: if you’d like your child to pick up your orders, please send a note of permission with your child to school on Wednesday.
With your tremendous help, we sold almost 400 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and helped raise just about $2800 to go towards our playground fund!
We truly appreciate all your efforts. This fundraiser could not have been such a success without all your help!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Your School Council
