Critical considerations before using novel sets
Student-centred learning approaches such as student choice of text, literature circles, and book clubs empower students and help provide safe learning spaces.

How to search for novel sets
To see if a specific book is available as a novel set, navigate to the Kit Library Insignia site and search by title, author, etc.

How to book novel sets online
Access the TJRC Kit Library search website. Login (upper right hand corner) using your firstname.lastname@ugdsb.on.ca email address and password.
Select "Terry James Kit Library" from the dropdown menu under the "Home" button.
Search for and find the kit (makerspace, novel set, etc.) that you would like to book. On the right side of the screen, click on "Book Item".
Make sure that the "Site" displayed at the top of the booking window is correct - this tells our staff where to deliver your items. Please email terryjames.library@ugdsb.on.ca with any questions or concerns.
Select your target start date from the calendar in the pop-up window - the system will automatically set your end date. Complete your booking by clicking on "Book Item(s)".
A booking confirmation message will pop up. Click "OK" and repeat the process to create additional bookings.
