Wm TOMORROW

Reminder: Winter Market Tomorrow!

Hope to see many Ponsonby families, friends, and community members at tomorrow’s Winter Market fundraiser. Doors open at 9:00 am, cash only. Many thanks to all those who have already supported our market by donating, baking, crafting and more!

1) Wanted: Families to Share a Tradition

Friday, December 1st is our next Colour House Day and the theme is “Let’s Celebrate!”.

We are looking for families who are interested in sharing a favourite family holiday tradition with the students at Ponsonby. It can be any holiday – birthdays, Name Day, Diwali, Christmas, Lunar New Year, New Year’s Eve, Hanukkah, Valentine’s Day  – the possibilities are endless.

Interested families will share their tradition with each Colour House group. A teacher partner will help you to plan the activity and source any materials needed for your tradition.

If your family is interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. McPhedran for more information.

2) Progress Reports Available Now

Yesterday, instructions for accessing the progress reports and Caregiver-Teacher Interview booking system were sent home. Thank you for being partners in your child’s learning! We value your feedback and ask that you complete and return the pink page after you review the Progress Report and book an interview time. This will save you needing to print an extra page of the Progress Report yourself and helps us keep our files up to date. Please note that there is no school for students next Friday, November 24th because it is a PA Day to provide time for teachers to conduct interviews.

3) Parent Survey – Your Input Needed

UGDSB parents and caregivers are invited to complete the 2023 WHY Survey. This survey, which we are running with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, is for students in Grades 4-12, all staff, and all parents/guardians. Completion of the survey is voluntary. This survey will provide the information we need to inform programs and supports. The results will also help identify opportunities to improve the well-being of children and youth in our community, as well as UGDSB Staff. The survey opened on November 13 and closes on November 24, 2023.

Please see the following link to the parent survey: https://is.gd/2024parentwhy

The information is collected under the authority of Board Policy #204 and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this research project, please contact: Lyndsey Dossett, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, 1-800-26-7293 ext. 4542, [email protected].
