December Reading Challenge

Announcing…

Rickson’s “December Reading Challenge”

This is a reading challenge for Rickson students in grades 3 to 6.  You have the month of December to read as much as you can outside of school.  YOU get to choose what you read; the only rule is that the books are at YOUR reading level and are books that you have NOT yet read before (so no Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Big Nate, and Dog Man for most of you!!).  You record the number of pages that you read AT HOME, and qualify for PRIZES based on how much you read.

For students participating in the December Reading Challenge, there will be some special perks, including:

  • Improved reading abilities!
  • A trophy (and bragging rights!) for the class that reads the MOST pages!
  • A secret prize when you return to school in January

To participate, make a copy of the December Reading Challenge Reading Record  (go to File – Make a Copy), fill in your reading each day, and on the first day back to school in January, share the record with Mrs. Patrick ([email protected]).
