School Council
The role of a School Council is:
- To act in an advisory capacity to make recommendations to the school Principal and, as appropriate, the Board
- To improve student achievement and enhance accountability of the educational system to parents.
- To place the overall interests of the school and students first.
Education is a partnership involving parents, students, teachers, principals, school boards, government, and the community.
Your involvement in the council gives you the opportunity to strengthen that partnership.
How to get involved.
The membership of a school council changes from year to year. There is a self -nomination form at the end of this page – if you would like to serve as part of the council in the upcoming school year please fill in the form and hand it in at the office.
Whether you decide to take an active role as Chair, Treasure or Secretary or you would like to be a member who helps with selected projects or you just want to come out and be part of the group discussions we have at our meetings, we would love to hear from you!
Rickson Ridge School Council meets about 5 times a year for formal meetings. Sub committees are formed to plan and execute different activities.
