A Message from The Principal’s Desk

Posted December 20, 2021

Dear Rickson Ridge Families,

As we head into the holiday break I would like to take a moment to wish you all a peaceful time with your loved ones.

Thank you for your support over the past 18 months. Since starting at Rickson Ridge I am continually blown away by the compassion and care that this community shows our school.

My call for funds to purchase more chromebooks for our students, was met with understanding and amazing support. My thanks goes out to all of you.

Since returning to face to face learning in September, the Teachers have shown me time and time again that they are a dedicated and passionate team who give 100% everyday. We have followed all the guidelines set by Public Health, and have done our very best to keep our children safe everyday.

As we head into the New Year, and into uncertain times with this new Covid variant Omicron,  please know that we are ready to ‘pivot’ if the government decides this would be the safest way forward. We have chromebooks ready to be picked up and the Teachers are ready with their Google Classrooms. 🙂

I recognise that this is not where we wanted to be, but I believe that by keeping a positive attitude,we can always find something to be grateful for, and I know in my heart, that together we can overcome whatever this nasty virus throws at us!

Thank you to those of you who came out to support and cheer on our choir and band last week. I was so happy for the students that we did not have to cancel at the last minute!

Wishing you all, peace, love and joy this holiday season and throughout 2022!

Best regards,

Gillian Muir
