Oct 5 Update
Today, Oct 5th marks World Teacher’s Day!
We are very fortunate to have such incredible educators at Rockwood Centennial PS who offer so many enriching educational programs both inside and outside of the classroom. Thank you to school council who will be providing a pizza lunch for staff tomorrow on our first pizza day.
Student Census:
The UGDSB Counts Student census is coming to a close October 9th. Reminder emails will be sent to parents/guardians today and tomorrow this week which will have a link to the census.

We are requesting as much completion as possible to allow us to support all of our students. Thank you in advance for your assistance in completing this. If you are only able to do some of the questions, that is fine too.
Construction on Mary Street and Crossing Guards Needed:
Please note that a sidewalk is going to be installed on Balaclava St. starting next week. Please encourage students that walk to school to use Mary street instead. Parents, please avoid driving on Balaclava, using Mary Street instead. It is possible that the construction crew will completely close the street to pedestrians and/or traffic or make it one way during construction. Timeline for completion is approximately 2-3 weeks, weather permitting.
The township is looking for school crossing guards to ensure the safety of the children walking to and from school. See the link for details and the posting about crossing guards to apply.

Pizza starts tomorrow Thursday Oct 6th:
A reminder that our first pizza day starts tomorrow. Students who pre-ordered on schoolcashline.com will receive pizza at 2nd break. We will be offering some slices for sale for $2.50 if students missed out on ordering. There will be a limited amount so please send a lunch and money in case they want to purchase pizza.
Subs are now available to order via lunchbox:
Subway subs are available next Wednesday via lunchbox. This means that subs can be ordered on a week to week basis. There is also an option for a bag of chips or a fruit buddy pouch (apple sauce). The deadline for each week is Sunday at noon, so if you would like a sub on Wednesday, October 12th, please be sure to order by Sunday, October 9th at noon!
To order:
1. log in to your school cash online account.
2. Click “items” Here, below your child’s name, you will see a blue Lunchbox Logo with a green box that says “order now”. This is where the sub orders are.
3. You will be prompted to add your student to the lunchbox platform and select their teacher- this is important as the food will be delivered to this classroom.
Please note that the lunch box program does not email reminders for ordering deadlines, so please check your order dates carefully and keep track of when you need to reorder. No late orders can be accepted.
