Good morning Rockwood families,
It is hard to believe we are in our final week of school! It has been an incredible year and I want to thank you for your continued support of our school and dedication. We have another busy week ahead right to the end on Thursday which is our last day of school as Friday is a PA Day. Please continue to inform the office if your child is absent this week. Thank you to the Graduation committee for their outstanding efforts in planning such a successful grad for our grade 8 students! The ceremony and dance were enjoyed by all! Congratulations to our grads!
Yearbooks: Unfortunately, there are no more yearbooks. Thanks to Ms. Pitcher and the yearbook committee for putting together this year’s keepsake filled with amazing memories!

If for some reason, you are unable to access the portal and require a hard copy, please contact your child’s teacher. Reflect with your child on their successes and areas for growth.

Thank you to the Lion’s Club for donation $450 to our Fun fair given the challenges with the food line up and they have also provided mini toothbrushes for students that will be coming home this week. Great to take on a vacation or camping!
Wednesday, June 28th, we have our final assembly at 9am recognizing our students in K-6 and also saying goodbye to staff moving on.
Congratulations to Mme Chaves and Mrs. Goetz on their retirement! Congratulations to Mrs. McCabe who is moving to the role of VP at Arthur PS. Mme Rafalowski will be in the Music and planning position. Welcome to Mme Shirton-Smith who will be joining us in September for the grade 6 FI position. We also wish Mrs. Cutrone all the best in her position at Taylor Evans and Mr. Bradey who is moving into planning between Paisley and Elora schools. Thank you to Mr. Johnson, Ms. Tuckwell, Mrs. Pitcher and Mme Edwards for their dedication this year to our school in their long term occasional positions. We hope to see them back again! We will miss all of these educators and their dedication to our students and wish them all the best in their future!
Thursday, June 29th is our last day of school as Friday is a PA Day. We have our carnival planned for students with fun games and activities outdoors led by our Intermediate students! Dress for the weather to enjoy some last day fun with friends! We also have our final pizza day and pizza slices are available for sale for those who didn’t order at $2.50 a slice. Milk, juice and cookies are for sale for $1. Popcorn is also available for sale for $2.
As we wrap up the school year, I want to thank everyone for a great year filled with learning and opportunities. Our fun fair was a wonderful event to celebrate the year and our community came together to celebrate family and raise funds for our school. We were able to support funding gym and outdoor education equipment and literacy resources for students.
We wish all families a wonderful and enjoyable summer holiday! See you in September and thanks again for a great year!
