Happy New Year 2024! We hope you enjoyed the holidays with your family. Students settled back into their classroom routines today.

The Upper Grand District School Board Before and/or After School Program (BASP) survey will be open to parents/guardians starting on January 9, 2024. This survey is intended to gather information about the number of children who need before and/or after school care for September 2024 at schools that do not currently offer a BASP. Please complete the BASP survey if your child will be entering JK/SK in September 2024 or is currently registered in Kindergarten to Grade 5 and will need access to a BASP. Only parents/guardians requiring care at these schools are asked to complete the survey (one per family). The survey will close at the end of the day on January 31, 2024, and will not reopen after this point in time, so please take a moment to fill out the survey before 4pm on January 31, 2024.
BASP’s within UGDSB schools are not board operated. It is important to note that the addition of a new BASP is solely reliant on the ability of a Third Party Childcare Operator to provide these services. Information from the survey about before and/or after school needs is helpful when determining the viability of a new Program and understanding the needs of families is helpful for their consideration. Please note that the survey’s completion does not guarantee that a Before and/or After School Program (BASP) will be offered at your child’s school and does not register your child or put them on a wait list.

Primary and Intermediate classes participate in anti-bullying presentations with the John Howard Society. This program runs every Tuesday from Jan 9 – Feb 6th.
New food programs begin this week for the term. We have pitas tomorrow (Tuesdays) and pizza day (Thursdays). Students can also purchase pizza by the slice for $2.50.
Spirit Day this Friday: To bring in the New Year we have a spirit day on Friday! Students are encouraged to wear their Rockwood spirit wear or school colours to show their Rockwood pride.
