Pink Shirt Day:

This Wednesday, February 28 is Pink Shirt Day in Canada.

The idea comes from two incredible Nova Scotia high school students in 2007. When a fellow student was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, they decided to take a stand. They went out and bought pink shirts to give to fellow students to show their support for a boy who was being bullied simply for wearing a pink shirt.  Pink Shirt Day is now an annual anti-bullying campaign that has grown across Canada and around the world as a way to symbolize bullying will not be tolerated.

At Ross R, students are asked to wear something pink (doesn’t have to be a shirt!) or just “think pink” to draw attention to the problem of Bullying.   Our Kindness club continues to make daily Kindness Quote announcements to remind us all that we are continuing our focus on “Kindness” throughout the school.

Scholastic Book Fair:

From March 5-8, Ross R will be hosting our annual Scholastic Book Fair!   Stay tuned for more information to come.  Stock up on some great books for March Break!!

Author Visit:

On March 4th, we will have an Author visit for our Grade 1-3 students!  Beth Becker, author of “Something Nice,  A Musical Tale” will be joining us to talk about the process of writing a book!
