2. Teachers Report (Amanda Marson)
- Students had a great time at the Halloween dance!
- Junior soccer teams attended a tournament and the boys team won 2nd and 3rd and 3rd for girls.
- Junior students had Cricket tutorials from visiting Australian teachers.
- The new Gaga ball pit that is very popular and has been a great addition to the yard
- The French club is holding a poster contest in which students are making posters with the French greetings. The top three posters will win prizes.
- The choir did a great job singing O’Canada at the Guelph Storm game and the Remembrance Day assembly and will be practicing for the Winter Craft night
- Students were excited to have Guelph Storm players at Salem PS (junior STEM activities, primaries read aloud)
- A lot of different clubs have been happening at recess times such as dance club and paper airplane club
- Please make sure to sign up for parent-teacher interviews-this is a great time to find out about your child’s math, reading and social needs, along with how best to support them.
- We are continuing to focus on developing reading skills (decoding for the younger grades and Morphology-spelling/vocab development/decoding in older grades) so ask if you need help finding good resources at home.
- We are also focusing on developing math fluency with number facts. Great to play games with to develop these skills.

3. Principals Report (Kyla Lightfoot)
- November 16th-Report Cards Available online as well as parent/teacher conference sign ups.
- Parent teacher/conferences will be held on November 23rd (evening) and 24th (all day).
- November 20th-24th is bullying awareness and prevention week.
- Student picture day proofs went home this week, retake day will be Thursday November 23rd.

Thank you to everyone who fundraised for the Krispy Kreme donuts! Together 600 boxes were sold, which raised $4660.00 for Salem School.
- New Business:
- This year’s Holiday craft night will be held on Wednesday December 6th. The evening will have craft making, hot chocolate, a performance by the choir as well as a silent auction! For further information stay tuned on upcoming “5 Things”.
