Labour Update, March Break, Food Orders are Changing and Much More!

-LABOUR: Upcoming strike dates and school closures in the UGDSB
Currently there are NO upcoming strike days and school closures that affect Sir Isaac Brock PS

-March Break this year is Monday March 16th to Friday March 20th, 2020. The school will be closed for the week, please have a fun and safe break!
-FOOD ORDERS are changing! All SIB food orders starting the week after March Break will now be ordered through Lunchbox. This easy to use system will allow families to order a single meal or as many as needed all from a simple log in. More information has been sent home about logging in but you can also go to www.lunchboxorders.com and click “ORDER LUNCH” or check out our website.
-Our school has received a $1000 Healthy Schools Certification Food Literacy Grant through OPHEA. Our goal for our certification is to plan and implement a nutrition bin program for our school. Thanks to a couple of our fantastic teachers for making this happen for our students!
-A giant thanks to school council for supporting Summit Climbing this week. Each class is receiving 2 sessions in the gym, setting goals and reaching new heights!
-Attention Grade 8 Grads: Studio Night – Grad Photo Retakes: Wednesday April 8th 4pm – 8:30pm Woodland Christian School (conference room) 1058 Spitzig Road, Breslau. To book an appointment call Customer Care at 888-416-3343 The other option for students is our studio in Burlington. The studio is open for all of March break and most weekends. -All updated Term 2 Modified IEPS for students are being sent home to parents last week. If you received your child’s IEP please sign it and return it to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. If parents have any questions about the goals for Term 2 or any general questions about their child’s IEP please contact the child’s homeroom teacher at any time.
-PARENT COUNCIL, ALONG WITH OUR SIB GRADE 6s will be selling COOKIES every Thursday during 2nd break: Each cookie is $2!
-Parents please check the lost and found at the front of the school. Any unclaimed items will be donated to those in need after the March Break.
– PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD’s IMMUNIZATIONS ARE UP TO DATE AND RECORDED WITH PUBLIC HEALTH. Suspension letters are in the process of being delivered to the students’ families who have not updated their immunizations with Public Health. Immunizations are tracked by the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health department. If you have received a letter, have questions or require an update on the current status of your families’ immunizations please go the website https://www.wdgpublichealth.ca/healthcare-providers/vaccines-immunization for more information.
