Dear SIB families,
Everyone at SIB is excited to get the school year started and we want to thank the SIB community for their patience! There are many changes to this school year that parents and students need to know about to ensure everyone’s start is a success. Today’s email contains three important links with information in each that needs to be carefully reviewed.
#1 STAGGERED ENTRY SCHEDULE CHANGE:
A phone call from the school board went out to all families last night indicating the change to the staggered entry schedule. Most students at SIB will start school either on Thursday Sept. 10th or Friday Sept 11th. #2 OPENING DAY AND FIRST WEEKS OF SCHOOL PLAN: As you are aware, the Upper Grand District School Board has put extensive plans in place for the school year. Our school has now created plans that include both operational changes (how we manage the people and resources within the school) and health and safety changes (our response to the COVID pandemic). In many cases, these changes are significantly different to how we used to operate. We hope this document will help answer your questions about the specifics on the opening day and first week of school. In the document you will find our plan for notifying parents about who their child’s teacher is before they arrive at school as well as other important details such as changes to morning drop off and pick up (especially Kiss ‘n’ Drive changes) and how to connect with the school. A reminder that for this year more than any other is very important to label all of your child’s belongings.

We ask that all SIB parents share this important information with family and friends who may also have students attending schools in the UGDSB to ensure we have reached everyone as we are only a week away from starting school.
