+PARENT ACCESS TO STUDENT’S PERSONAL ITEMS AND RETURN OF SCHOOL MATERIALS

School Pick Up

 

Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

In light of the Ministry of Education’s announcement that schools will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, Victory PS has developed a plan for families to retrieve the personal items belonging to students (i.e., shoes, medications, pencil cases, etc.) and to return materials belonging to the school.  Technology will be collected at a later date.  More information will be posted on the school website.  

 

Dates:

  • June 4th – Following the procedure below, parents/guardians can come to the school during their assigned time block to pick up items belonging to their child(ren)

 

Schedule for June 4th:

  • Please arrive at the time listed with the first initial of your child’s LAST NAME:
    • A-C:  8:30 to 9:00 am
    • D-G:  9:00 to 9:30 am
    • H-J:  9:30 am to 10:00 am
    • K-L: 10:00 to 10:30 am
    • M:  10:30 to 11:00 am 
    • N-R:  11:00 to 11:30 am
    • S-V:  11:30 to 12:00 pm
    • W-Z:  12:00 to 12:30 pm

Please note: As we will be following social distancing practices, you may need to wait in line. Please be sure to observe the 2m social distancing regulation at all times.

 

The Following Procedure will be followed by Parents/Guardians when picking up items:

  • Send only one adult per family; prior to arriving, please complete the COVID-19 Self-Assessment
    • If you are exhibiting symptoms, have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days, or if you have been in contact with a confirmed case, please do not come to the school
  • Arrive at the school during your allotted time block.  Children are not permitted to be on school property at this time.
  • You may ask another adult to pick up your child’s items; please complete the Permission for Alternate Person Pick Up Form
  • Park on the road (while observing social distancing), as the parking lot will be closed. Line up in the designated area while observing social distancing.
    • Entrance for your child’s class is as follows:  Upper Floor Classes -Boys Entrance Doors

  Main Floor Classes -Front Entrance Doors

  Lower Floor Classes -Kindergarten Yard Entrance

  Portables -Portables (in the Gym if it rains)           

  • Lost & Found items will be set up in the main foyer . Please do not touch and handle items
  • When you get to the front of the line of the entrance doors, there will be a staff member who will greet you and ask for your child’s last name
    • If you have items belonging to the school (i.e., textbooks, library books, home reading books, patrol vests), there will be a bin at the front of the line for you to leave these materials
    • When returning materials to the school, please place belongings in a sealed Ziploc Baggie with your child’s name and teacher name clearly labeled on the baggie
    • Please inform the staff member at the front door if you have to pick up medication for your child
  • When you enter the building please stay to the right.  You will be directed by staff members.
  • Staff members will have already pre-organized your child’s items into labelled plastic bags; the plastic bag(s) for your child(ren) will be lined up outside your child’s class.  There will be no access to classrooms. 
  • Please pick up the bag(s) belonging to your child(ren), if you have children in multiple classes please look to the staff member to direct you to the route that you should take to that class
  • Proceed to the main floor entrance to pick up medication if this is applicable 
  • After collecting belongings, proceed directly to your vehicle 

 

Important Notes:

  • A
  •  ccess will be prohibited to anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, to anyone who has travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days, or to anyone has had close contact with a confirmed case
  • You may wear your own mask or gloves; however, these will not be provided
  • Please observe social distancing at all times (by standing 6 feet apart) -remain on the spots marked with an X until the X ahead of you has cleared
  • Students are not permitted on school grounds at this time
  • Your child’s belongings will already be gathered in a labelled plastic bag; please do not bring your own bags or containers
  • This time is designated for the pickup of student’s personal items and the return of school materials only; no meetings with staff or other activities are permitted at this time
  • There will be no access to classrooms or washrooms
  • There will be no outdoor supervision; and the playground and yard are closed
