Message From Principal

Well it looks like spring is around the corner! We are all excited about the prospect of learning and playing outdoors in the sunshine. Please send an extra pair of socks along with your child as there are many puddles on the yard.  We are very excited about the new lines that have been painted on the school asphalt and are enjoying seeing the students use these in creative ways.  Many are playing games and others are creating activities of their own.

Education and Mental Health Week is the week of May 2nd.  This year’s theme is:  “MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER – Learning, Wellness, and Connection; Allons de l’avant ensemble:  apprentissage, bien être et relation humaine”.  Education Week is full of planned activities addressing both learning and mental health.

EQAO begins this month. The grade 3 students will be completing their assessment during the week of May 30th and the grade 6 students during the week of June 7th.

Mr. McCoy will be starting an Experiential Learning Project around Nature Photography.  Some classes will be exploring books or videos from an indigenous perspective that explore the natural world in an age appropriate way.  You may look forward to more information about this project as it unfolds.

Please feel free to contact me at any time to share ideas, suggestions or questions about your child’s education and school experiences. My door is open.
