SCHOOL COUNCIL
There’s a new fundraiser for all our Winegard Veggie lovers, Winegard gardeners, or Winegard Wolves that like to play in the dirt! For the month of April your family can sit down and place an order for vegetable plants (strawberries and watermelon too!) These plants will be delivered right to your door and then your family can spend time together planting your summer garden. Please see the attached link for information on ordering.Fundraising_Information_Plantables.pdf
KISS AND RIDE
It has been very busy in the Kiss and Ride area and the parking lot. The Kiss and Ride zone is meant as a drop and go area. Cars are not to be parked and left unattended. If you need to park, pull into a parking spot or park on the available side streets. We need to keep the parking lot clear and the bus area.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PINK
April 13, 2022 marks the International Day of Pink. It is a day where communities across the country, and across the world, can unite in celebrating diversity and raising awareness to stop bullying. Wear PINK!
SAFE ARRIVAL
Continuing with best practices, late students must check in at the office in order to get a late slip before entering class. It is also important to call if your child will be arriving late.
LIBRARY LEARNING COMMONS
Makerspace is a great spot to get creative. In order to be as environmentally friendly as possible we will be making items using recycled / reusable items. If you have any of the following items please put a little bag together and deliver it to the Library. WCW students will be so happy and thankful for any/all contributions:
ITEMS NEEDED:
- Cardboard (thicker grade)
- Egg cartons
- Tubes ( paper towel / toilet rolls)
- Other craft supplies welcome: pipe cleaners, paper plates, paper bags, googly eyes
SAFETY ON THE PLAYGROUND
With the warm weather approaching our students have been anxiously waiting for our playground structure to reopen. Board policy determines that the equipment is off limits from November 1 to April 1 and at other times as determined by the school administration. At this point in time our playground structures remains closed.
BIKES AND SCOOTERS
Promoting the safety of students riding to and from school is a shared responsibility. Student’s riding to school must wear a properly fitted cycling helmet while cycling and walk bikes and scooters when on school property. Bicycles and scooters left on school property during the school day must be equipped with a lock and secured properly. We are not responsible for loss or damage to your bicycle or scooter. It is encouraged that primary students ride to and from school accompanied by an adult.
