Guardians of the Gardens

Posted June 10, 2021

We could really use your help this summer!  As you may have noticed, Aberfoyle families have worked hard to improve our outdoor spaces at the school.  We are looking for families to volunteer to take care of the gardens at the front of the school, as well as the learning garden in the kindie area, for a week or two in the summer.  All we need you to do is check the weather during your week and come to the school to water as required.  Bring the whole family and enjoy the outdoor space while the sprinkler waters the garden or bring some watering cans so the kids can help too!  We would appreciate you pulling any weeds you might see and please feel free to sample any fruit or herbs that might be ready (you earn that by being a guardian).  The hose, sprinkler and tap key will be accessible from outside the school. We ask that you wear gloves or wipe down the tap key and lockbox at the end of your week.  Please email Meghan (check your email for full contact details) or the school to sign up for 1-2 weeks starting June 28 and ending September 5.  More details will be given once we have all of our volunteers.  Weeks will be determined on a first come first serve basis so please email Meghan with your availability.  Thank you so much for signing up, we really appreciate your support!
