February 2020 (click here for this month’s newsletter)

Welcome to February!  While the snow is still falling, the days are getting noticeably longer, with the sunlight lighting our paths a little later each night.  Our first month of 2020 went quickly! With the start of a new calendar year, it is always exciting to take stalk of the growth in our students now that we are approaching halfway through the school year.  For example, our youngest learners are gaining increased confidence and independence as they can now zip up their own jackets and are working on identifying common sight words. Be sure to take a moment around the dinner table to celebrate your child(ren)’s growth over the past few months and talk about what their goals are for the next half of the school year.

We would like to welcome Jane Brooks to the Alma Public School teaching team.  Jane is filling in for Ms. Echlin in our Grade 1/2 class for the remainder of the year.  We wish Ms. Echlin all the best in the arrival of her baby in the next few weeks!

A quick reminder to all walkers and families who drop off students before the start of the school day.  Yard supervision starts at 8:20am. In order to ensure everyone’s safety, please do not leave children unattended on the school yard prior to 8:20am.

Have a great month of February!

Ms. Spike
