Updates For February 13-17, 2023

Posted February 15, 2023

Hello Alma Families!  Here are the 5 things you need to know today to keep up to date this week:

  1. Report Cards will be available for online viewing tomorrow, Thursday, February 16th. You can view your report cards here:  https://www.ugdsb.ca/parents/connected/.  To aid with providing an opportunity for feedback, we are sending home a page tomorrow that students and families can use to talk about strengths, needs and next steps.  Please send it back when it is completed and it can be added to your child’s Ontario Student Record.  For students with an IEP, those documents which have been updated with term 2 goals, will be coming home tomorrow as well.  If you have any questions when accessing the report cards, please reach out to the school.

  1. We were grateful to receive an $1100 donation to our Food and Friends snack program from the Grand River Agricultural Society.  We are grateful for their help in helping to provide healthy food to hungry minds in our community.

  1. We wanted to thank Dhrumin from Alma Town Convenience for donating a Timbit for every student yesterday at a few local schools, including ours, to show kindness during our Valentine’s Day events in classes.  He’s a strong supporter of our community and we thank him for his continued support of our students.

  1. Family Day is coming on Monday, February 20th.  There will be no school that day.  Enjoy spending time with your family and friends!  We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday, February 21st.

  1. There is a free live webinar to learn about EQAO assessment results and Ontario’s large-scale assessment program at the elementary-school level.
  • March 28th @ 6:30 PM
  • April 4th @ 12:00 PM

EQAO will review highlights from the 2021–2022 assessment results. The session will also highlight how the Primary division (Grade 3) and Junior division (Grade 6) assessments have been modernized. The presentation will be approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by a live Q & A session with EQAO staff. Registration: www.eventbrite.ca/e/451955981507.

Thanks as always for your continued support.  If there’s anything the school can do to help, please let us know.  We’re here to help!

Take care,

Jason Boyce
