Updates For June 19-23, 2023

Posted June 19, 2023

Hello Alma Families!  Here are 6 things for you that are key to know for this week and next:

  1.  Monday, June 19 is our grade 6 celebration at 6:30 PM.  Please meet us in the outdoor classroom and remember to bring a lawn chair if you have one.  We look forward to seeing you there.

  2. Tuesday, June 20 is our grade 6 camp trip, as well as a Play Day for kindergarten to grade 5 students at 1:50 PM.  Please remember to dress for the weather as it is likely going to be warm out.  Also there are water elements at some games so students might get a little wet if they wish. Please dress for the fun!
  3. Wednesday, June 21 we will be hosting the central Ultimate Frisbee tournament for junior students from across regional schools.  For those students attending, please remember to wear proper footwear for running outdoors and remember to bring a hat, water and sunscreen if desired.  The rain date for this event is Friday, June 23.
  4. Thursday, June 22 is our performance of “The Magical Adventure Of The Fabulous Four,” which is written by Ms. Robinson and performed by many of our students.  Performances will be held in the gym at 9:30 AM and 2 PM.  The story is about how characters from familiar stories work to understand how they have learned to feel safe, known, heard and that they belong.  Families are welcome to attend a performance if they wish.  As well, Report cards will be available online on Thursday.
  5. Important dates to remember for next week are:
  • Tuesday, June 27 – Aboyne Library Visits in the morning and Kindergarten Celebration in the afternoon
  • Wednesday, June 28 – Volunteer Tea for those who volunteered this year at 2:40 PM.  Invitations will be coming home soon.
  • Thusday, June 29 – Last Day of School and Talent Show at 9 AM.  Families are welcome to attend.
    6.  Please remember to return your library books this week for summer processing.  Remember to visit your local library, book store or shelf at home to read with your children this summer.

Thanks as always for your continued support.  If there’s anything the school can do to help, please let us know.  We’re here to help!

Take care,

Jason Boyce
