Women’s History Month – March is Women’s History Month. Have you heard of Portia White? Portia had a beautiful voice and was one of the best classical singers of her time. Unfortunately, because of racism in Canada, Portia had to work twice as hard to get half as far. She was never offered a record deal because of the colour of her skin. Some theatres across the country refused to let her perform. Hotels wouldn’t book her. Despite this, Portia toured the world and became the first Black Canadian singer who was known all over the globe.

Linamar International Women’s Day Event – Field trip forms for tomorrow’s trip to Linamar are due today. Please hand them in to Mrs. Omland in the co-op office. The bus leaves at 9 tomorrow morning.

Grad Fundraiser – Gr. 12 Grads! Elmira chicken order forms and money will be due on March 22. See Ms. Angus if you need a form.

Summer School Registration – Registration is open for summer school. Please see the grade specific google classrooms for information or come to Guidance and talk to Mr. Smith.

Conestoga College Trip – We are organizing a trip to Conestoga College on Tuesday March 26th. We will be visiting 2 or 3 campuses depending on timing. Students will get a sandwich and a baked good. The cost is $5 but can be waived if necessary. Come to guidance to get forms. If you went on the trip last year you will be placed on a waitlist. See Mr. Smith with any questions.
