Green Industries Pop-up Sale – Surprise! Today and tomorrow between 12 noon and 3:30pm in our CHSS Bake Shop, you can pick up some factastic Spring centrepieces made fresh in our Green Industries program. Be sure to check out the fun and festive floral designs while you are picking up your sweets. Hurry before they hop away!

Women’s History Month – March is Women’s History Month. Have you heard of  Rosemary Brown? Rosemary dedicated her life to promoting gender and racial equality. She was the first Black woman elected to public office in Canada. Rosemary was also the first Black woman and the second woman ever to run for the leadership of a Canadian federal party. With 40 per cent of the vote, she nearly became the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP) of Canada. Rosemary’s slogan was “Brown is Beautiful.”

World Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month – Did you know April is World Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month? Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder that affects about one in 50 children and youth in Canada (about two percent total). Autism affects the way individuals interact and communicate with those around them, and each person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is unique and has their own strengths, gifts, and support needs. Please join us to celebrate Autism Awareness day by wearing blue on Tuesday, April 2.

Youth in Policing Initiative – The Guelph Police is accepting applications until April 26th for the Youth in Policing Initiative. This is a full time summer job where students gain exposure to the Guelph Police. It’s available for students that are 15-18 years old and returning to school in September 2024. See the grade specific Google classrooms for details or come to Guidance for more information.

Chess Championship – Do you want to be crowned College Heights chess champion? Come sign up for the College Heights chess tournament with Mr. Caswell in C106 at lunch. Games will be played Wednesday at lunch.

Summer School Registration – Registration is open for summer school. Please see the grade specific google classrooms for information or come to Guidance and talk to Mr. Smith.

Bake Sale – Bake Sale is happening today after school. Please remember to line up outside of the bake shop. C101. There will be no bake cart tomorrow, so today is your last chance this week to get your baked goods!
