Eid Al-Fitr – April 9-10 is Eid Al-Fitr. Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of the fasting of Ramadan. Eid Al-Fitr consists of prayers, feasts, gatherings and giving gifts. Tomorrow we will have an Eid inspired lunch to celebrate!

Green Industries Seed Sharing Event – Hey Huskies! Tomorrow and Friday, Green Industries will be holding their annual Seed Sharing Event! Be sure to drop by the library at lunch on Thursday and Friday if you would like to choose some seeds to grow at home. Kick start your veggie garden or grow a pollinator plant to two this spring. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Stardust Dance – The Stardust dance is happening on April 18th from 7-10pm. If you are interested in a LGBTQIA+ dance with all high schools in Guelph, come to the library during lunch, period 2 or period 4 to buy a ticket. Tickets are pay what you can between $5 – $10. You must buy a ticket by April 11th.

Black History and Black Brilliance – Every month is a good month to celebrate Black History and Black Brilliance. Have you heard of Jean Augustine? The Honourable Jean Augustine was the first Black woman elected as a Member of Parliament. She challenged the country to protect the under-told parts of its history. She led a motion that made February Black History Month in Canada and helped erect the first statue on Parliament Hill that honoured women in history. Most recently, Jean joined efforts to have August 1st nationally recognized as Emancipation Day, the day enslavement ended.

Dungeons & Dragons Meet – The student’s who are interested in Dungeons & Dragons meet in C106 today at the start of lunch to decide meeting times.

Chess Tournament – Hey Huskies, the CHSS chess tournament continues today at lunch in C106.

Youth in Policing Initiative – The Guelph Police is accepting applications until April 26th for the Youth in Policing Initiative. This is a full time summer job where students gain exposure to the Guelph Police. It’s available for students that are 15-18 years old and returning to school in September 2024. See the grade specific Google classrooms for details or come to Guidance for more information.

Bake Sale – Bake Sale will not be happening today after school. Bake Cart will be coming around during 4th period.
