Personal Best – Looking Within – Branching Out

Posted April 23, 2018

Again this year, students and staff at Elora Public School will be looking at three umbrella’s throughout the 2018-2019 school year. These umbrella’s will guide our conversations, our learning and our practice.

Umbrella #1 Personal Best        Umbrella #2 Looking Within        Umbrella #3 Branching Out

For the first part of the school year, we will focus on our “Personal Best” umbrella. During the first months of school we will focus on the importance of being persistent and overcoming challenges in our daily lives. Challenges such as starting a new school, meeting new friends, learning how to play on the school yard, trying new activities, joining teams, being in a new classroom with new peers and new teachers. Students and staff will look at the “Power of Failure” and the “Power of Yet” to help us grow into our personal best.

This week, we will examine how Terry Fox did his personal best, over came personal challenges and persisted with his journey across Canada. Join us on Thursday @ 9:00 am for our kick off assembly and our Terry Fox Run!
