Our June Message

Posted June 28, 2018

As our 2017-2018 school year comes to an end, the staff at Elora Public School wanted to thank you for your continued support throughout the entire year. We appreciate the volunteer hours that you’ve given to us for trips, classroom help, or school wide volunteering.  We also appreciate that you work daily with your children to help them develop the strategies they need to be successful, socially and academically. With over 400 students, there are times when things don’t go quite as planned. It is through these times that we truly appreciate your time and support. Talking with staff, working with your children and helping them navigate through their elementary years is an important part of our school/home team. As we look forward to next year, we hope that the lines of communication remain open between your family and our staff. We encourage you to be curious, ask questions and look for ways to contribute during the 2018 – 2019 school year!

Every June we wish our Class of 2018 all the best as they say goodbye to elementary school and look forward to the adventures ahead of them as they begin high school. This year, we also are saying goodbye to several staff members. Ms. Male (EA), Mrs. Shanks (EA), Mrs. Lebrun (teacher), Mr. Morrison (teacher) and Mrs. Black (office)  All will be moving on to other schools. Each of these staff members has had a positive impact on our Elora school community. We wish them well at their new schools.

After 11 years of teaching at Elora Public School, Mrs. Newark is ending her 25 year teaching career! Retirement is calling her name! Students had a chance to say their goodbyes during our assembly today with flowers, hugs and a few tears shed by some.

From the staff at Elora Public School, we wish all of you a safe and fun summer!

See you back here on September 4th!
