Congratulations to Mrs. Lawson’s Grade 2/3 Class

Posted April 26, 2021

Students in Mrs. Lawson’s 2/3 class took part in the Virtual Earth Day Contest organized by the Grand River Agricultural Society.  Students made posters to celebrate Earth Day, wrote stories about how our community could do their part to help “Restore our Earth” and created a class mural.  Their mural titled, Time for Change…No Planet B shows several different changes we can make to help the planet.  The hands symbolize our promise to help our earth and that it will take all of us together to make change.  The mural placed second in the contest.  A photograph of the mural is displayed on the top banner of this website.

A special congratulations goes out to Lauren who won third for her story about a Brother and Sister Bear’s journey to learn how to take care of the earth.  Pheenix and Charlotte also won prize packs for their stories.  Chloe, Houston, Sophia, Donovan, David, Ida, Ellie, Alex, Owen, Nicolaas, Brennan, Harper and Gavin won prize packs for their posters.   Congratulations to everyone who participated.  They did an amazing job!
