Wishing you a Happy and Safe Summer!

Posted June 29, 2022

It is hard to believe that our 2021-2022 school year is drawing to a close.  We have made it through the year with mostly in-person learning and were able to celebrate through our play day, JK orientations, class celebrations, as well as freezie days!  On behalf of the Harris Mill team, we wish students and families good health, safety and well-being and we look forward to seeing all of you in the fall.

Our staff can be proud that we successfully completed a closer-to-typical school year.  Students, we are so proud of you!  You are amazing and should be very pleased with your accomplishments.  Families we would like to thank-you for all your patience, support, and words of appreciation.

Our grade 5 students are off to new adventures at Rockwood Centennial. We wish them all the best as they continue their learning journey.

Have a happy, safe and relaxing summer holiday. Farewell!

Farewell to Harris Mill Staff

As this year draws to a close we join together in saying ‘Farewell’ to some of our teachers. We wish Ms Capobianco, Mr Embrey, Ms. Mauch, Ms. Murphy, Ms. Fairfield, Ms. Allen and  Ms. Gayton all the best.  It has been a pleasure to work with all of these wonderful educators and staff members, they will be missed by all.  It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Ms. Sargeant..

Report Cards

Final report cards are now available online. Thank you for taking the time to assist in supporting your child’s learning needs this year.

Student Medication

For those students who have medication at the school, families will have been contacted by now to arrange a time to pick up their child’s medication.  If you have not already done so, please contact the school by June 29th to arrange a time to pick your child’s medication.

 Equity Fund Available to Help

We never want a child to miss out on a field trip or activity due to financial hardship.  If you are going through a period where the cost of field trips or other costs for special school events becomes a hardship please just let Ms. Hare or your child’s teacher know so that we can ensure that everyone is able to participate.

Student Transportation

For information about bus transportation, please access the Service de transport de Wellington-Dufferin Student Transportation Services (STWDSTS) website at: http://www.stwdsts.ca/home/documents/forms/TF014.pdf for your child’s transportation information before the start of school in September 2022.

School Supplies

Before you know it, the Back-to-School advertising and sales will be starting! Sometimes families wonder what their child(ren) will need to bring to school.

All regular school supplies are provided to students by the school and it is not necessary to purchase anything. That being said, some children prefer to have their own materials. In this case, we suggest that you keep it simple with materials such as a pencil case, crayons, coloured pencils, glue stick, markers, scissors, etc.

The only items children need to bring from home are extra shoes for indoor use, a backpack, and a lunch box.

We wish you all a  happy and safe summer!  Please look to the school website at the end of August for details about the first day of school.
