Hyland Heights News for April 27th

Posted April 28, 2021

Good evening,

We want to say how proud we are of our students and families who are supporting our students remotely. We know it is not easy to be learning remotely and want to acknowledge the hard work of our students and our families. Thank you.

We have had a few parents inquire about the 225 minutes of synchronous learning. Please note that the 225 minutes can be whole class instruction, as well as small group instruction, and one on one learning with the teacher.  If your child is not involved in small group or one on one learning the expectation is that they are working on asynchronous material.  The 225 minutes of teaching does include teaching from the homeroom teacher and prep time teachers (e.g., subjects not taught by the classroom teacher, the most common being French in the junior/intermediate grades and gym in the primary grades). If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher. They are here to help.

Another important thing to remember is that students are marked absent if they are not participating in remote learning or completing paper packages. If you need support, please reach out to your child’s teacher. We can work together to solve problems.

Please continue to check our school website for additional information. We do post important information to our website, our school app, and through emails and phone calls like this one.

Thank you. Stay well and stay safe.
