Student Survey About Remote Learning

Posted May 11, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Student voice is so important in making decisions about the future of education in Ontario. The Upper Grand District School Board is assisting the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) to collect information about students’ experiences with remote/online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We want to hear directly from students. We have designed two surveys: one for students in Grades 5 and 6; and one for students in Grades 7 to 12. Students will be asked about their experiences with online learning before and during the pandemic, types of learning activities they did, how well online learning worked for them, and how things could be improved. The surveys will only require about 10 minutes to complete, and the responses will be completely anonymous.

Your child will receive an email through their school email account that gives them access to the survey. Please encourage your child to participate and have their voice heard in this process.

OPSBA will use the survey results to work with school boards and other education partners, including the Ministry of Education, in planning a successful “return to school” once the pandemic is over.

If you have any questions about the survey, please feel free to contact Judith Nyman at [email protected]

Sincerely, Martha Rogers

Director of Education & Secretary-Treasurer
