Tech Request for Shift to Remote Learning

Posted November 7, 2022

Parents/Guardians,
All elementary students will temporarily shift to remote learning starting on Wednesday, November 9th due to job action by CUPE members. It is unknown at this time when in person learning will resume, but we are hopeful it will be soon.

We understand that some families will require a device to support student learning.  If you currently do not have a personal device at home or a device from the UGDSB and require one, please complete this Google form. Tech Request Form  link is also available on our website, through an email we sent all parents/ guardians, or on our Twitter account. Please understand that we are loaning one computer to each family currently due to a limited inventory. If your family requires more than one device, please indicate this on the form and we will look at this once all families who need one device ,receive one. This will probably be later this week.

PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT THIS FORM if your child (ren) has a SEA computer (a ministry provided Chrome book because of a special need). Teachers will make sure these are sent home at the end of the day on November 8th. Students who are absent and have SEA equipment, those SEA Chromebooks will be in the office, ready for pick up on Wednesday, November 9th.

Devices will be sent home with students starting on Monday, November 7th and Tuesday, November 8th. Please do not call the school looking for a requested device until your child (ren) return home at the end of the day on November 8th.  Devices requested after 2pm on the 8th will need to be picked up by an adult on Wednesday, November 9th.

Thank you for your patience. We will share more information with our community as it becomes available. If you have trouble filling out this form, please call our office and we will help. 519-941-3731
