School Report Great Moments in Teaching:

·         Lots of Celebrations

·         Tuesday Nov 8th was Indigenous Remembrance Day

·         Remembrance Day tomorrow

·         Funding will be received for formal snack program through Food & Friends.  Will be looking for parent volunteers to prep food, each class will have containers of healthy snacks

·         Question: can we donate “Fresh from Farm or other food donations? Answer: yes (see Ken or Cassie)

·         Student absences up, EA shortage board/province wide

·         Safety Patrol up and running, lots of great student volunteers

·         3 new teachers added to the school roster

·         Tutoring resources available through the board will be shared online

Action Item: Cassie to ask for parent volunteers that can come into the school to help prepare snacks

Picture Company School photo company issues feedback:

–       Concerns about package prices, backgrounds, had to order by a certain date or a penalty, which was before the retake pictures were available, seemed less flexible, confusing website, would prefer to be able to just purchase digital options

–       Positive feedback for ease of use for website, quality of pictures

 

 
Direction for the Year Would like to hold more fun events for students – movie night, end of school year fun night.

 

 
Fundraising Fresh From Farm

–       Drop off Tuesday Nov 15th between 12 and 3, parent pick up between 3 and 5

–       May need more parent volunteers that afternoon if possible, let Richard know

 

Teacher’s Wishlist Funding:

Primary:

–       education membership

–       Scientists in the school for grade 3 & 4 ($470)

Junior:

–       clear folders, dominoes, magnetic fractions, magnetic base sets $280

Intermediate

–       board games

Phys Ed

–       $500 last meeting for phys ed- could cover goggles and a volleyball net plus.. $150 left for something else

Library

–       $160 for lego and green screen/tech supplies

Kindergarten

–       pinnies & supplies – up to $500

 

Note: requested kindergarten printer and junior whiteboard could come from school funds

 

 
Treasurer’s Report –       no change, will follow up with Ken on updates on spending

–       $1300 left in accounts, plus $700 from Fresh from the farm, so about $2000 to spend

 

 
Q & A –       Q: Are kids getting tv shows at lunch?

–       A: Sometimes – it depends on the teacher and class, not every class, not every day, usually educational
