It’s Almost Time
Good Afternoon VCPS Families!
We hope you’ve had a great summer. As we prepare the classrooms and the school for the 2022-23 school year we know that our families are getting ready at home too! Please sign up for UGConnect messages on your smartphone if you haven’t already. Updates will be posted on our website as well.
For our newest students starting Junior Kindergarten, please check out the website for information regarding out JK Orientation visit on Thursday, September 1st from 10am – 12:00. This information was emailed out to families who registered in June, however, if families are new to the area or haven’t registered their Junior Kindergarten child yet, please pass this message along. It’s not too late!! If you are interested in the First Rider program on August 30 at Minto Clifford PS, please contact [email protected] with your first, last name, your child’s name, your email address and indicate VCPS is your home school. There are still openings at 9am, 10am and 11am on the 30th.
First day procedures and further information about our 2022-23 school year, will be posted next week to our website.
For families hoping to do some back-to-school shopping, here is a brief list to get you started. Students in all grades should have:
- indoor shoes
- a lunch bag
- a backpack
- reusable water bottle
- pencil case with pencils and erasers
- pencil crayons
- one or two glue sticks
Teachers may ask for grade specific items such as markers, pens, calculators, highlighters, etc. Three ring binders are NOT needed. No matter what items you send, please ensure your child’s name is on each item. When lost items are found, labelled items are very easy to return to their owner.
