Junior Kindergarten Orientation
You’re Invited to our JK Orientation.
When: Thursday, September 1, 2022
Time: Come and Go between 10:00 and 12:00
Who: Parent(s)/ Guardian with your Junior Kindergarten Child
- Note: we would ask older /younger siblings not attend this orientation
Where: Enter through the Kindergarten gated area. You will be greeted by a staff member. The staff member will let you know who your child’s classroom educators are, and what classroom you will be visiting.
Come and see your child’s new learning spaces and meet your child’s educator team!
Class Placements
Class Placements and Teaching Teams are still being determined. Class Placements will be shared on Thursday, September 1. If you are unable to attend September 1, don’t worry because you will also be receiving an email from your child’s teacher on that day.
Every year, the UGDSB Staffing Committee reviews school organization in September. As a result, there are times when class placements change as a result of student movement over the summer. For example, if we have families move into our area, we may be in a position to add a classroom. Or on the other hand, if families move out of our area, we may be in a position of losing a classroom. Both situations result in a reorganization of our students at the beginning of September. Parents will be informed of any changes in their child’s class placement via email.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are an important part of our school community. Volunteers are used in the classrooms, for school snack programs, School Council and for class trips (just to name a few). If you are interested in volunteering and have 20 minutes or an hour a week, please let us know!
