UGDSB to host Centre Wellington Community Meeting
The Upper Grand District School Board, in partnership with our regional partners, invites Centre Wellington community members to the first in a series of community engagement meetings aimed at violence reduction and suicide prevention. The Centre Wellington community has experienced much loss and tragedy over the past decade, including recent events that have brought the issues of transphobia and homophobia to the forefront.

Notice of positive COVID-19 case
A notice went home with all students today to inform you that there is a case(s) of COVID-19 in our school. If your child is a High-Risk Contact of the positive case, you would have received a different letter with specific guidance from Public Health.

Policy feedback opportunity: School Volunteers, Educational Field Trips and Off-Site Activities
The following UGDSB draft policies have been released for public consultation: Policy 205 School Volunteers, and Policy 508 Educational Field Trips and Off-Site Activities. The deadline to provide feedback is October 14, 2021, at 4pm.

WDG Public Health to host Parent Information Session on COVID-19 vaccines
On June 14, 2021, at 7pm, Dr. Matthew Tenenbaum, the Associate Medical Officer of Health for Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, will be offering a presentation for youth and their parents/caregivers to learn more about WDGPH’s COVID-19 vaccination program and answer parent questions.

Supports for staff and students following horrific violence targeting Muslim community
The Upper Grand District School Board would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Muslim community following the horrific violence in London, Ontario, which killed four family members and sent another family member to hospital with serious injuries. Officials are reporting that this is an apparent hate crime and that the victims were targeted because of their Muslim faith.
