Principal’s Message for February

Posted February 1, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope that you have been able to stay warm during these frigid last few days of January. I am hoping that February can bring some warmer weather to allow students the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

In the next couple of weeks you will receive your child’s report card. This report, unlike the progress report, will provide you with more detail on how your child is progressing at school. Please review the report with your child and acknowledge the suggestions that are made for improvement. Although formal interviews occurred in November, please feel free to connect with staff if you have concerns or questions about your child’s progress.

In the month of February we will be celebrating Black History Month. We continue to have themes for each of the months of school. Last month we focussed on Health Living; this is often a focus for many people when starting the new calendar year. We really stressed with the students that healthy living goes beyond healthy eating and exercise. While these two components of well being are important, we wanted to recognize the importance of mental health and simply feeling good about ourselves. We will continue to support students on this topic throughout the remainder of the year.

I wanted to remind everyone that we continue to use a number of different communication tools to keep you up to date with what is happening at school. This letter may have come to your attention in either an email, the website, print, messenger, or google classroom. Please note that our website is the holder of all information; this includes our calendar. If you are struggling to access information and feel you need some support, please reach out to me personally and I will help you through this.

Have a wonderful month of February!

Sincerely,

Mr. Viveiros
