DownloadJune is Pride Month.  Please follow the link to the Board website to see how the board and schools will be celebrating Pride Month.  It is hard to believe that we are moving into the last weeks of school.  We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our William C. SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our Winegard Wolfpack once again came out to share some pizza together!  Thank you to all of you who ordered pizza, shared social media posts, and talked friends & family into ordering.

Our school raised $540 in pizza sales. Domino’s generously bumped our fundraising proceeds up to an even $600.  This time around our class participation award goes to Ms. Hopkins Grade 2 class. Congratulations!  Keep an eye in your mailbox for your prize. (A voucher for a free small pizza will be mailed out from our school office.)

A big thank you to our office staff for coordinating getting our reward out to Ms.Macdowell’s and Ms.Hopkins’ classes!

Follow us on Facebook @ William C Winegard School Council for upcoming events and other information from the school.

When you are next in the school library (fingers crossed for next year!) be sure to look out for some new additions. First, in the picture book area you will see a display of artwork made by WCW students on the themes of learning from home and resilience. We are very appreciative of the time and creativity that went into these paintings by students from every division in the school, and we would love to continue displaying student work in this shared space.

Additionally, we now have a Parent Lending Library, thanks to the board’s Parent Involvement Committee. We are starting with a very small collection, but hopefully it will grow in time! Details about how to sign out the books will be shared as they become available.  I am happy to share that students have very much enjoyed the opportunity to read and hear new books this year. We are grateful to have been able to purchase more books from the Forest of Reading program and to improve our graphic novel collection, and we look forward to students being able to enjoy these books for many years to come.
