Follow us on X (Twitter) @IslandLakePS for friendly reminders and ongoing events in the school.
As always, check our website and calendar at https://www.ugdsb.ca/islandlake/ for upcoming events.

No Pizza on March 4th
Friendly reminder that there is no pizza on Monday, March 4th. However, there will be Boston Pizza on Thursday, March 7th which is the rescheduled date from the previous no bus day.

IMPORTANT:
The Upper Grand DSB and Wellington Catholic DSB have made the decision to move the PA Day originally scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024, to Monday, April 8, 2024. Please check the website for more. Information is being sent to all UG families https://ugdsb.ca/blog/important-april-pa-day-date-change/

Provide your input on the 2024-25 School Year Calendars:
Planning for the next school year has begun and the Upper Grand District School Board is seeking feedback on the proposed 2024-2025 school year calendars. Staff, students and families in our district are invited to take a few minutes to provide their input on the UGDSB’s draft 2024-2025 School Year Calendars via an anonymous online survey. To learn more and complete the survey, please visit https://www.ugdsb.ca/blog/provide-your-input-on-the-2024-25-school-year-calendars/.

Lunches
If you are dropping off a lunch for your child or you are having lunch delivered, please make sure to have it labeled clearly with your child’s first and last name. Thank you!

Bus Loop
Friendly reminder that our bus loop is closed in the morning from 8:15-9am and in the afternoon from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Keep in mind that we sometimes have a late bus that will arrive 5-10 mins after this time period.

Live Free
Our school is participating in the Help Kids live Free from Hunger campaign for our Food and Friends Program, who helps support our great snack bins in our classrooms! The Children’s Foundation is working hard to meet the growing need in our community, and that includes fighting food insecurity through our Help Kids Live Free from Hunger campaign. We are grateful to have a nutrition program in our school that offers students something to eat when they forget their lunch or have eaten everything in their lunch and are still hungry. Students will be making a pledge this week to live free of one thing in their life (chocolate, video games, etc.) for one day to help bring awareness to those that often go without food each day. If you are willing to donate $2 to Live Free you may do so via School Cash Online. Thank you ahead of time for your donation.
