WHO ARE WE
We are a team of parents and teachers focused on ensuring the best educational experience for ILPS children. As School Council members we contribute through volunteer opportunities and/or sponsoring programs or projects to enrich the school environment for all students. Some examples of classroom enrichment that school council has provided are: home readers, math manipulatives, library books, musical instruments, Scientists in School, artists in the classroom, playground and outdoor equipment and much more. There are several ways to get involved, it all depends on what you can do and when you can do it, either in school during the day or at home in the evening. Come out and see what we’re all about!
SCHOOL COUNCIL PROJECT 2014-2016
Each year, School Council raises funds for projects and/or programs that will benefit and enrich the school environment for all our students. In 2014, School Council began a project to raise funds for an Outdoor Learning Space, which will be located adjacent to our EcoPak. Simply stated, it’s a classroom outside that can be utilized September thru June, where math, science, social studies, art and language arts all come alive using nature as a learning lab.
The classroom will be designed and landscaped to include a sheltered area with seating, gardens, pathways and all of the tools required to facilitate teaching and learning.
