Boys' Rugby Practice CANCELLED for Feb 19th. The next practices will be held on Feb 22, and 24 starting at 6:50am.
On Tuesday 17th February, Jesse Jackson sadly passed away after a long illness. He was a champion of civil rights, a protegé of Martin Luther King, and a politician who sowed the seeds of possibility for Black Americans. Jackson’s civil rights activity began in 1960. He was at home in Greenville and needed a book for a university assignment. It was not available in the small “Black student-only” library and he was denied access to the “white student-only” one. He vowed to return, and on 16 July, led seven others into the library, sat down and began reading newspapers and books. He was arrested. It was to become a regular occurrence. Jesse Jackson dedicated his life to the quest for social, racial, and economic justice. Let’s honor Jesse Jackson and Black history today and every day.
