Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to inform you that our students at John F Ross CVI will have the exciting opportunity to participate in an upcoming guest speaker presentation. This event has been carefully planned to enrich their learning experience and connect classroom concepts to real-world applications. Below are the details of the event:
Event Details:
We are pleased to announce a Naloxone workshop, hosted by James Tellier from St. John Ambulance, for high school healthcare students on April 24th at John F. Ross CVI in Room 201. This workshop will provide students with valuable, hands-on training on how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses, including the life-saving skills of administering Naloxone. The session will directly connect to the Ontario Health and Physical Education Curriculum, which focuses on promoting health, safety, and well-being. Through this workshop, students will deepen their understanding of substance use and gain practical skills that support the curriculum's emphasis on making informed health decisions, addressing safety, and enhancing community health. This workshop offers an important opportunity for students to learn about an essential health intervention and to be better prepared to handle critical situations.
We are confident that this experience will provide valuable insights and inspire our students. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the event, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your support and for encouraging your child’s participation in these enriching opportunities.
Warm regards,
Paul Lydan
Emergency Healthcare Instructor
