What is the Arts program about?

Art Gallery screenshotCentre Wellington District High School has Arts programs that will appeal to a wide range of students. Discover the history of theatre, and write and star in your own play in a Drama class. Create watercolour, prints, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more in a Visual Arts class. In Martial Arts you will be introduced to self-defense and improve your skills and fitness. Like to sing, play guitar and perform? Music classes will be perfect for you. In a Media Arts class you will create media using cameras and other digital tools. There is something for everyone in the Arts department.

The Arts Department is very involved in extra-curricular activities. Every year there is a major Drama production. There is an annual student art show at a community venue. Media arts students have won online digital movie competitions and medals at the Ontario Skills competition. A variety of musical ensembles suit every interest. In addition, there are many trips that include New York City, Hot Docs/Toronto, Stratford Festival, OCADU and regional and national competitions in drama and music.
