If you are interested in volunteering at Mitchell Woods, you will be required to:

  1. Complete the School Volunteer Application – Contact the office: mitchellwoods.ps@ugdsb.on.ca
  2. Sign a Volunteer Agreement form – Contact the office: mitchellwoods.ps@ugdsb.on.ca
  3. Provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) Police Check – See instructions below

Completing a Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) Police Check:

  1. Visit Guelph Police Service ePIC
  2. Scroll down and click the green Perform Police Record Check button
  3. Be sure to select Vulnerable Sector Check under “What type of Police Record Check?”
  4. Select Volunteer under “What are you applying for?” (police checks are free for volunteers)
  5. Create an account (or log in, if you have an existing applicant account)
  6. Provide two pieces of identification. Acceptable forms of I.D. include:
    • Driver’s Licence, Health Card (# not required), Passport, Birth Certification, Permanent Resident (PR) Card, Canadian Citizenship Card, Ontario Photo Card, Valid Student ID card, CNIB ID Card, FAST/Nexus card, Military Family Identification (MFID), Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL), Police Service Issued Warrant Card
  7. Choose to pick up your completed VSS at Guelph Police Service or have it mailed to your home (processing times can vary and can take several weeks).
  8. Submit your application.
  9. Return your volunteer application forms to the office and present your VSS to have a photocopy taken.
